Antonis Antoniou was born in Volos in 1981. He studied History and Archaeology at the University of Ioannina and accomplished a master’s degree in History and Social Anthropology at the University of Thessaly. He received his PhD from the same University in 2016. He worked as a researcher for the programme “Thales – University of Thessaly – designing the Museum of the city of Volos” (2013-2014) and in the School of Architecture, in the context of the programme “Housing policies and habitation practices in the city of Volos (1922-2015)”. He is currently conducting interviews for the project “Memories of the Occupation in Greece” of the Freie Universität Berlin and lecturing “History of Colonialism” at the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly. His research interests focus on colonialism, contemporary political history and history of ideas, nationalism and local history.
