Wow! Our remote learning programme for Roma students – designed in collaboration with the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments-MELMOFAKE – has been awarded one of the three best practice awards of the International Committee for Education and Cultural Action (ICOM-CECA) of the International Council of Museums.
We are mightily proud of this project, which has managed to engage an audience group that is woefully underrepresented in the school history curriculum here in Greece.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the vision and insight of Vasiliki Polyzoi (who led the initiative and who will receive the award at this year’s ICOM-CECA conference in Athens); the charisma and humour of our brilliant performer-interpreter, Lefteris Katachanas; and of course, the Museotek platform and their excellent support team!
