An article concerning our award-winning distance learning program, “In the footsteps of Vangelis Soukas”, has just been published by ICOM CECA as part of their best practice collection 2024.
“In the Footsteps of Vangelis Soukas” – a winner of this year’s ICOM CECA Best Practice Award – explores the life and legacy of the iconic musician Vangelis Soukas. The program was developed with Vasiliki Polyzoi, the director of the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments & Fivos Anogianakis Centre for Ethnomusicology. It was delivered to Roma students in schools all over Greece with the support of Museotek.
The article, written by Vasiliki Polyzoi and Foteini Venieri, gives a detailed description of this innovative approach to cultural heritage education; which combines live, synchronous online learning with museum theatre. You can access the article and many more in the latest ICOM CECA Best Practices publication.
A huge thank you to our collaborators and supporters for making this possible!
