Introducing our interactive educational program: ‘In the footsteps of Vangelis Soukas…’
Commissioned and co-designed by the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments / ‘Fivos Anoyanakis’ Centre for Ethnomusicology (ΜΕΛΜΟΦΑΚΕ) as part of the European Heritage Days 2023, this museum theatre programme has been successfully adapted into a remote, live learning experience with the support of the Museotek digital platform.
Since October 2023, it has traveled digitally to 8 schools across Greece that are situated in Roma community areas; showcasing the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments to young students who would not otherwise be able to discover its collections, and initiating a conversation with them about their musical heritage.
Special thanks to the excellent Lefteris Katachanas, who created and performs our museum theatre character Kostis.
We hope to continue this fruitful collaboration and extend the offer to more schools this year!
